ARE DERMAL FILLERS TREATMENTS SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE?
Treatments wouldn't be suitable if you were under the age of 18 years, or had a known allergy or sensitivity to particular products or their ingredients, including local anaesthetics.
They also wouldn't be recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women, or for those with skin infections near the areas requiring injection.
If you're taking certain treatments which affect blood clotting, such as Aspirin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel or Omega-3 oils, you should contact us about the suitability of the treatments for you.
DO THE DERMAL FILLER TREATMENTS HURT?
We use very fine needles to inject the treatments. We also use a local anaesthetic cream to numb the areas beforehand. The dermal fillers we use also contain a local anaesthetic which numbs the area as we inject.
This helps to make the treatments as comfortable as possible. Your lips are the most sensitive treated areas, so the very first injection can be a little uncomfortable. However, having spoken to our clients, they tell us that hair removal (threading) is actually more painful than having our lip shaping & volumising treatments.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF DERMAL FILLER TREATMENTS?
With fine lines/wrinkles treatment, there is a possibility of some slight bruising around the treated areas. This is temporary & tends to clear after a few days. There can also some slight temporary skin inflammation too.
With the dermal filler injections too, slight temporary bruising & inflammation can occur. Cold packs & Arnica cream can be used to help relieve this.
HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT THE DERMAL FILLER TREATMENTS TO LAST?
Fine lines/wrinkles treatments tend to last around 3-4 months on average. The treated facial muscles will gradually start to contract again over this time.
With the dermal fillers, it depends on the type of filler, the viscosity (thickness) & the area treated. Lip treatments should last for around 5-6 months, naso-labial lines around 9-12 months & marionette lines should last around 6-9 months. As always, the treatment time can vary from one client to another.

WHAT ARE SKIN BOOSTERS?
Beauty boosters and skin boosters, otherwise known as skin hydrators, are micro injections of dermal filler that reintroduce hyaluronic acid into the skin to improve quality by boosting hydration and elasticity. They also smooth skin texture, and reduce fine lines and imperfections such as acne scarring.
WHAT AREAS CAN SKIN BOOSTERS TREAT?
These injections can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage and hands.
WHO IS SUITABLE?
All skin types are suitable for these kinds of injections but they are particularly suited for anyone with rough and dehydrated skin, fine lines, and mild to moderate acne scarring.
HOW ARE SKIN BOOSTERS DIFFERENT FROM DERMAL FILLERS?
Traditional dermal fillers are injected beneath the skin to enhance volume or shape. Beauty boosters and Skinboosters however, are injected into the skin to hydrate and improve skin quality, rather than to lift and enhance.
HOW MANY SKIN BOOSTER TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Generally, a course of two to three treatments spaced monthly per area is recommended.
IS BEAUTY AND SKIN BOOSTER TREATMENTS PAINFUL?
There is very little pain however, an anaesthetic is applied prior to treatment to make sure you’re comfortable.
IS THERE DOWNTIME INVOLVED POST-TREATMENT?
There is almost no downtime. As is the case when putting needle to skin, there is always a risk of bruising and very slight swelling. There may also be two to four small puncture marks on the face.
CAN I USE BEAUTY BOOSTERS IN CONJUNCTION WITH MY OTHER FILLER TREATMENTS?
These injections can be used independently or in conjunction with other treatments as part of your overall treatment plan.
CAN I HAVE BEAUTY OR SKIN BOOSTER TREATMENTS IF I’M PREGNANT?
No. We do not do any dermal fillers while clients are pregnant.
